Last year over 250 artists from UNM’s College of Fine Arts joined to create the inaugural ArtsUnexpected; a day of art and performance in over 50 different locations around the UNM campus. Art could be and was in the most surprising sites on campus–art installations, art sales, and art projected onto the façade of the Architectural Building. The response from the University community was tremendous and before the day ended everyone was asking “when is the next ArtsUnexpected?”
This year’s festivities, set to kick off at 9:30am this Friday, will feature even more artists and performers participating in events and installations at a variety of locations across the campus and city, including several in downtown Albuquerque. For a detailed listing of performances and locations, download our complete event guide, or pick one up on Friday.
There are many Art & Art History Exhibitions and Performances opening with Arts Unexpected; Art in the Libraries, Inflatables, Projections, Ceramics, Printmaking & Painting, Interactive Sculpture, and the list goes on! Come out and see them all.
