It gives me great pleasure to announce that we have received funding for a Frederick Hammersley Visiting Artist Program in Painting and Drawing! The Frederick Hammersley Foundation is funding a visiting artist position each semester for the next five years!
This past summer I was asked to submit a proposal for a Visiting Artist in Painting and Drawing by the Hammersley Foundation. With the help of Kristine Purrington, the CFA Development Officer, we drafted and submitted a proposal that has received funding for the next five years. The Painting and Drawing faculty have organized a nomination process to select our first visiting artist for Spring 2017. Our first Frederick Hammersley Visiting Artis is ALLISON MILLER! She will arrive in January 2017; she will give a public lecture, design and teach a class and meet with graduate students in our Department. She will have a studio in the Mattox, and at the end of the semester participate in open studios.
