Please join us Wednesday, February 22nd at 2:00 pm in the UNM Center for the Arts, rm 2018 for the GALE MEMORIAL VISITING ARTIST LECTURE SERIES with presentations by John Phillip Abbott, Derek Chan, and Jasmine Little. Each of these artists will give short presentations on their practices followed by a panel discussion on the topic of being a working artist based regionally/locally as opposed to working from one of the major art hubs.

Jasmine Little
Jasmine received her BA from the University of California Los Angeles and her MA from Adam State University. Her work has been exhibited extensively both nationally and internationally, including numerous solo and group exhibitions in venues across Los Angeles. Jasmine is presently working on a Public Art Installation to take place on the campus of Adam State University.

John Phillip Abbott
John received his BFA from Western New Mexico University and his MFA from the University of Wisconsin. His work has been exhibited widely, including exhibitions at the highly notable gallery, Pierogi, in NYC as well as Galerie Sebastien Bertrand in Geneva Switzerland. John currently lives in Silver City New Mexico where he teaches at Western New Mexico University.

Derek Chan
Derek received his BA from the University of California Los Angeles and his MFA from the University of Illinois Chicago. Derek has had notable exhibitions with Carrie Secrest Gallery in Chicago as well as participation in the well regarded Artist in Residence Program in Roswell. He has also exhibited at the Center for Contemporary Art in Santa Fe and in the Roswell Museum of Art.
