Michael Cook of the Department of Art and Art History was awarded a    Distinguished Honors Fellowship in the Honors College at the University of New Mexico. As a Distinguished Fellow, Professor Cook will be teaching in the Honors College for the academic year 2015-2016.

The UNM Honors College offers high-achieving, enthusiastic, motivated students many of the personal and intellectual advantages of a small liberal arts college within the diversity of a large research university. The emphasis in their courses is intensive reading, writing, and discussion in which reasoned self-expression and critical thinking are valued and rewarded. In this context Professor Cook will bring a new addition to the Honors College in area of the Fine Arts by offering a new version of his field studies course Nature and Technology among others.
