Lukaza Branfman-Verissim, Artist Workshop, “What does it mean to let our stories fly?”

April 14 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Date:
April 14, 2023
3:00-5:00 pm

Location:
Annex Graduate Studios Front Entrance (building #105 on UNM map)

What does it mean to let our stories fly? How can our stories become tools towards crafting the future we want? When was the last time you really allowed your history to expand your wings and fly? Participants of this two-hour workshop will be led in collective and individual writing, storytelling prompts and exercises that think about the importance of text, words, speech and listening in the crafting and telling of stories that reach, fly, soar. With the stories, words, songs, content that gets created, together we will be making a series of large painted banners that tell our stories.

Access notes: The Annex Studio Gallery is up a few stairs.

All materials will be provided, wear clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on and a story about the last time you allowed yourself, your loved ones, kin, to fly.
