Below the surface of the earth lives a complex community of minerals, fungi, microorganisms, and organic matter, an intelligent system that forms the foundation of life on Earth. In The Underground Library, we approach soil as an archive: an ancient, living record of all that has been, and the generative ground of all that is yet to come. Each layer holds stories of ancestors, decay, transformation, interdependence, and survival. Featuring ceremony, performance, sculpture, visual art, and participatory works, this exhibition explores what it means to engage soil not as material alone, but as collaborator, kin, and guide.
