In Robbin’s ongoing body of work, she considers her experiences and memories from the first eleven years of her life. Childhood photographs, objects and memories that all come from her childhood home, and the home itself, are her main source of reference. Robbin is currently interested in the importance of the materials she uses to create works based on these references and how they inform her decisions to recreate or reform these memories or the nostalgia that is tied to them. Materials such as fabric and the act of embroidering, concrete and the act of placing her handprint into wet cement or recreating precious objects out of similar materials as the original object, such as plexiglass for a bear necklace or wood for a parrot hairpin.
