Brooke Steiger

Lab Manager of Printmaking

An interdisciplinary artist working in two- and three-dimensions, Brooke Steiger was born in Denver, Colorado, and raised in small-town Oregon. She received her B.A. from Brown University and shortly after graduation, spent an academic year studying Intaglio at Il Bisonte, an international printmaking school in Florence, Italy. Moving from Oregon to New Mexico in 1997, Steiger received her M.F.A. in Printmaking from the University of New Mexico in 2002 and her Tamarind Master Printer Certification in 2007.

She has held the position of Lab Manager of Printmaking in the Art Department at the University of New Mexico since 2009. Steiger’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and has received support through grants and residency awards from the College of Fine Arts at the University of New Mexico, the Tamarind Institute, Rotary International, Fondacione OBRAS, and the Ucross Foundation.
