Associate Professor, Sculpture
Randall Wilson seamlessly integrates craft, design, and intuition in his artwork. Beginning with technical principles of multi-material construction and expanding into the raw exploration of making, Wilson puts beauty in both the process and the product. His keen sense of design and thoughtful sense of community has earned him acknowledgment from some of the biggest sources in the field, such as Design Intelligence, Dwell, Los AngelesTimes, New York Magazine, New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal.
Wilson spent much of his professional career in Los Angeles, CA showing in galleries, public spaces, and community development projects. He has taught in Fine Arts and Design programs across the US and internationally. From his extensive experience at Otis and the ArtCenter Colleges of Art and Design, Randal Wilson brings a unique perspective to UNM’s Department of Fine Art, teaching sculpture with a solid foundation and an expansive imagination.
