Aaron Fry is a historian of Native American art, specializing in historic and traditional art, architecture, and visual culture of Native North America. His research interests include contemporary traditional Native arts (especially Pueblo pottery and traditional clothing of the powwow world), Native textiles of the southwest, Pueblo arts of the Spanish colonial and Pueblo Revolt era, Native easel painting traditions in the early 20th century in Oklahoma and New Mexico, Spanish colonial art and architecture of New Mexico, and the role of indigenous epistemologies in art historical methodology.
