Reggie Behl Award

This award is given in honor of artist, educator and world traveler, Reggie Behl. Reggie grew up in Long Beach, New York. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Pratt Institute in 1944, the same year that she married Hal, a high school classmate. Reggie Behl taught drawing all over the world, including at the University of New Mexico.

Native American Environmental Arts and Humanities Scholarship

This scholarship is an interdisciplinary award for Native American undergraduate students across all UNM colleges who are interested in art and ecology, species conservation, and environmental and climate justice. This application is 2024-2025 awards. This scholarship is made possible by a grant from the Mellon Foundation and the UNM Center for Environmental Arts and Humanities. Deadline extended to January 15, 2025.

NAEAH Scholarship Application

Janet and Richard Shagam Endowed Scholarship in Printmaking

Initiated through a generous gift from Janet Yagoda Shagam and Richard Shagam, supports graduate students in the UNM College of Fine Arts who are studying printmaking. The endowment provides scholarships to students in good standing who have completed their first year in the program, helping make their education more affordable and encouraging future generations of printmakers.

NM SOMA Summer Travel Grant

Each year, the UNM CFA Dean’s Office and UNM Department of Art award the UNM SOMA Summer Travel Grant to one UNM graduate student to attend SOMA Summer, a 4-week program in Mexico City. The $4,000 USD grant, plus an award by SOMA ($800 USD) is applied to the cost of tuition, airfare, lodging, meals, and local transportation for the SOMA Summer program. This award is open to graduate students enrolled in art studio, art history, and art education at UNM.
