Graduate Facilities
Art Annex
The Art Annex is located on the southwest corner of the main campus. This historic building was the original location of the campus library and features ample natural light. It is the graduate facility primarily for painting, printmaking, and photography students. The Annex has 24 individual studio spaces, 11 darkrooms, and our non-silver photo lab. Photography students may be assigned an individual darkroom space. A small, centrally-located exhibition/critique space is located on the first floor.
Mattox Sculptural Research Center
The Mattox Sculptural Research Center is located one block west of main campus, on the corner of Copper and Ash Ave. This 3-level, 29,000 square foot converted auto body shop has 2 bay doors on street level and ramps between floors. It is the graduate facility primarily for sculpture, art & ecology, experimental art + technology, and ceramics graduate students. After completion of a shop safety seminar, graduate students enjoy 24-hour access to the wood shop, metal fabrication facility, small ceramic facility, and a large mezzanine area devoted to assembly and installation.
Art History Student Lounge
The Art History Student Lounge is a dedicated space where budding scholars come together to share creativity and knowledge. Here, you’ll find discussions on favorite artists, class projects, and connect with fellow students who share a passion for the arts. It’s a space to explore, learn, and grow together as art historians.
