Gina Voelker Bobrowski

Associate Professor, Ceramics

Gina Voelker Bobrowski attained a MFA in Ceramics from the University of Georgia, Athens, GA, a BFA in Ceramics, from the Louisianan State University, Baton Rouge, LA, and concentrated study at the Penland School of Crafts, Penland NC. Additional emphasis includes academic training in painting, printmaking and a family background in music. She creates within a range of formats, determined by aesthetic need. These include ceramics and mixed media sculpture, installation, site works, community -engaged projects, murals, mosaics, and utilitarian pottery, often covered with intricate carvings or richly layered, in-glaze painting.

She is the recipient of several awards including two National Endowment for the Arts Individual Artist Fellowships, Louisiana Division of the Arts Individual Artist Fellowship, Mayor’s Award, Cortona, Italy, Young American Award, Museum of Art and Design, NY, and a NCECA Emerging Artist award.  Her work can be found in the permanent collection of the American Museum of Art and Design New York, NY, Ewing Gallery of Art and Architecture.
