National Endowment for the Humanities

UNM Department of Art, Associate Professor Kency Cornejo has been awarded a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH).

In 1965, the NEH was created as an independent federal agency. The NEH supports research and learning in history, literature, philosophy, and other areas of the humanities by funding selected, peer-reviewed proposals from around the nation.

Kency Cornejo was awarded the NEH fellowship for the promising project titled “Contemporary Art of El Salvador, 1977-2018”.  For the research and writing of a book about contemporary art in El Salvador and its US-based diaspora.
