Dr. Kirsten Pai Buick on African American History in Anchorage

In June, Dr. Kirsten Pai Buick, Chair of UNM’s Africana Studies Department and Professor of Art History, sanctioned by the Department of the Interior and federal law to integrate African American history into American history, visited Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Anchorage.

Dr. Buick, also a member of the 400 Years of African American History Commission, was joined by Addie Richburg, Executive Director, youth ambassadors, and community members including the brother of George Floyd who was murdered by a Minneapolis police officer in 2020.
