Jaime Herrell (Cherokee Nation) is an independent curator based in New Mexico. She is about to open her newest exhibition, lndigenization, in collaboration with TiA Collection and Duende Gallery. She is the guest juror for the current issue of Southwest Contemporary magazine, served as the associate curator at Ballroom Marfa, and formerly the Gallery Program Coordinator at the Thoma Foundation’s gallery, Art Vault. Born and raised in Southeastern CO, she graduated from the Institute of American Indian Arts studying Indigenous Museum Studies & Curation. Before Joining the TF team, Jaime curated exhibitions at places that include the Museum of Contemporary Native Arts(MoCNA) and the Balzer Contemporary Edge Gallery. Summer of 2022, she was the first IA/A Curatorial Intern at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. After Herrell received her degree at IA/A, she headed to Washington, D.C., for a three-month internship at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of the American Indian – a dream position in her line of work.
